The China Cup International Regatta is the first international regatta in Chinese history. Originated from China but established for the world, the regatta is highly professional and international. After inauguration in 2007, the China Cup International Regatta has won many international awards. It was appraised as the "Best Asian Regatta" and listed in the ISAF's official history. Through a series of contests, carnivals, and onsite activities, the China Cup International Regatta propagates the sailing and familiarizes more people with the marine life philosophy.

For high-end competitions like China Cup International Regatta, satellite live broadcasting becomes an important way for raising the competition value and propagating the marine culture philosophy. In the past, China Cup International Regatta tried live broadcasting for many times, it always failed due to weather uncertainty in sailing competitions, the signal transmission difficulty in the Daya Bay, and multi-camera photographing technical problems.

This season, Synertone cooperated with Shenzhen Sky Sea World Industrial Development Co., Ltd. to provide a satellite live broadcasting solution. Through "Synertone 1" satellite transmission, 4G signals can be transmitted even in long distances on the sea. Photographers on the branch boat tracked the sailing competition for photographing. Video content was transmitted by the wireless microwave image transmission system to the main boat for video capturing. The main boat integrated multi-channel video content, compressed the content as IP data streams through the HD encoder, and transferred the data streams to the ground gateway station through the "Synertone 1" satellite transmission system. A ground dedicated line was set up from the gateway station to the event broadcasting center. The decoder restored the streams to HD contest video content to complete event broadcasting. In this way, the audience ashore could watch the competition more visually in real time and feel the wonderful competition as on the scene.

The spot beams of "Synertone 1" completely cover the marine area of the Pearl River Delta, meeting the communication coverage requirement. "Synertone 1", developed by Loral Company of United States in 2005, is a technologically leading large-capacity broadband satellite in the world. Its bandwidth capacity is 20 Gbps, which can efficiently meet big data application requirements such as HD video transmission and multimedia video on-demand service.

Real-time capturing of HD videos in multi-angle , smooth and low-latency non-line-of-sight (NLOS) transmission gave the audience an unprecedented immersive feeling. Synertone’ satellite communication vividly showed the "speed" and "competition" spirit of the regatta, adding a unique technological charm to the 9th China Cup International Regatta.
