Railway

Background

China has constructed high-speed railways extending in all directions around the nation, with a total mileage of 18 thousand kilometers. The high-speed railways have become a major transportation method for residents. With fast development of national high-speed railway construction and constant increase of trains' speed, traditional 3G/4G communication cannot meet the requirements. To meet the Internet access requirements of passengers, increase the customer satisfaction, and ensure the service security, service reliability and railway operation efficiency of the high-speed railway system, a communication system for seamless coverage is indispensable.

Existing carriages of China's trains provide limited information services. Due to the fast train speed and variable environments, the traditional Internet access services cannot be guaranteed. The Synertone 1 can provide a stable and high-speed broadband satellite communication service. Due to various advantages of the satellite network such as wide coverage and seamless signal interconnection, passengers and cabin crews can get uninterrupted network services no matter what scenario the high-speed train travels.

Introduction

The satellite communication system for high-speed railway communications comprises three parts:

Broadband satellite system: It is installed on trains and uses mobile NEs that support high-speed motion as the core. The system supports multiple access modes, such as the satellite, Wi-Fi and LTE networks provided by telecommunication carriers. The system is composed of mobile NE satellite communication antenna, power amplifier, modem, and interfaces for connecting to the train emergency, data assurance communication system, Wi-Fi, and LTE networks provided by telecommunication carriers.

Satellite gateway station system: Three ground gateways located in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou are respectively connected to the ground network. For example, railway communication network and Internet communicate with the satellite gateways through the ground network. The service assurance system, emergency communication system, and value-added service system are interconnected with the ground network through this system. A satellite broadband communication channel for transparent transmission is established between mobile NEs developed and customized for high-speed railways and the ground station system. which can provide multiple functions such as large-capacity data transmission, high-definition (HD) video conference, emergency commanding, disaster prevention and mitigation, audio and video multimedia applications, VPNs, Internet information sharing and satellite broadcasting TV .

Operations management system:this system can provide multiple services like video monitoring, dispatch, service assurance, emergency communication for staffs on high-speed railway.

The combination of three systems above ensures the daily operation of high-speed railway, make the trip more safer and the access to Internet become more convenient.

Benefits

Value-added service system for trains to meet passengers' requirements for mobile broadband access.

-Solves the problem that the existing mobile communication networks cannot provide stable data links for Wi-Fi networks on high-speed railways.

-Provides abundant Internet services, including audio, video, data, instant messaging, e-commerce, social interaction, and other value-added services.

Satellite broadcast television.

-Supports live and on-demand programs on television and solves the dilemma of integrated entertainment services on the high-speed railway.

Emergency communication system.

-During natural disasters, the satellite is the only communication method.

-In special situations, the satellite can be used to set up a network for emergency commanding and dispatching.

Service assurance communication system.

-Uses the satellite communication system as the backup link of the current service assurance communication system.
