LTE Backhaul

Background

"LTE Backhaul" is an important system project that is intended to help operators implement the deployment of LTE system and mobile signal coverage.


Due to complex environments and scattered distribution in remote areas, ground fibers cannot reach these areas, and it is difficult and expensive to build communication infrastructure in these areas. In this case, a more desirable solution must be developed to implement seamless coverage of mobile communications.

Introduction

Synertone 1 can provide diversified trunking solutions to be deployed between remote base stations and the core network, and micro base station solutions for 2G, 3G and 4G networks, which are used to provide in-depth coverage for remote areas.


At present, VSAT IP macro base stations have been verified and are being promoted in China. Based on the different transmission links (E1 or IP) used by operators, the LTE back-haul solution uses high-performance satellite modem and can connect to the base station transmission devices of different links by using IP ports.


Remote base stations can connect to gateway stations through satellite links whereas the BSC and MSC connect to gateway stations through dedicated ground lines, thereby providing mobile network services where ground fibers cannot reach. In addition, Synertone 1 Satellite links can be used as the backup links of important sites and ensure online work of the sites when optical cables are damaged.
